Cortona Manor House & Spa In Renowned Tuscan Town Joins Interval International’s Global Vacation Exchange Network

Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), announced the affiliation of Cortona Manor House & Spa in Umbria, Italy. Built in the 18th century, the resort is four miles from Cortona, one of the oldest hill towns in Tuscany.

“This 300-year-old property is the perfect base from which our members can explore some of the most impressive sights and attractions in the Tuscany and Umbria regions, including the cities of Florence and Siena,” said Darren Ettridge, Interval’s senior vice president resort sales and business development for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

Cortona Manor House was restored using materials that have a reduced ecological impact and with consideration for its historical significance. The original tiles, wooden beams, frescoes, coats of arms, and fire places were preserved wherever possible to create an authentic rural atmosphere. The units have beautiful views of Lake Trasimeno or the surrounding countryside and feature separate living/dining rooms, small kitchenettes, flat screen TVs, and complimentary internet access.

“Holidays are very important to our members and our resort provides them with a pied-a-terre in a medieval town in the heart of Italy,” said Sergio Viterbi, owner of Cortona Manor House. “Our affiliation with Interval opens up a world of holiday possibilities for our members through the company’s expansive exchange network of quality resorts.”

Among the on-site amenities are The Old Post of Cortona 1745 restaurant serving traditional fine Tuscan- and Umbrian-style meals and wines, outdoor swimming pool open during the summer, and a sun terrace. The property also features a spa with an indoor heated swimming pool, and sauna.

Overlooking the Chiana Valley, Cortona is situated more than 300 feet (500 meters) above sea level on nearly 25 acres of parkland with centuries-old olive trees. As one of the film locations for “Under the Tuscan Sun,” the town has become a popular tourist destination. While in Cortona, guests can visit the Etruscan Museum located within the Palazzo Casali to see Etruscan and Roman artifacts found in the area. Another not-to-be-missed attraction is the Museo Diocesano, which houses paintings of great Renaissance artists, including Luca Signorelli and Beato Angelico.
