On October 27, 2016 for the fourth year in a row, representatives from Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO) presented monetary donations in the amount of $15,000 to the St. Thomas Department of Education and $10,000 to the Territorial Scholarship Fund at the University of the Virgin Islands Summit. In addition, the company also provided two $10,000 scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing a business degree in hospitality.
“We’re pleased to once again make these donations as part of our ongoing commitment to the island,” said Karen Case, senior vice president, human resources for WVO. “At Wyndham Vacation Ownership we’re passionate about supporting the St. Thomas community, and these donations reflect our sustained desire to aide in the development and education of our future leaders.”
Following the initial announcement of its flagship Margaritaville Vacation Club resort in 2013, WVO has been committed to supporting local education programs and establishing career development opportunities within hospitality, resort operations, sales and marketing. Through WVO’s philanthropic program, the company strives to improve the lives of future generations through education and the abundant volunteer service of associates worldwide.
