Verdant ZX Thermostat Recognized Globally for Cutting-Edge Design

Verdant has entered the New Year with yet another top honor. In December 2019, the provider of state-of-the-art energy management solutions for commercial buildings was awarded the GOOD DESIGN® 2019 award in the Building Products category for its Verdant ZX thermostat. The tribute, which recognizes products with cutting-edge design and innovation around the world, was bestowed by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd.

Since 1950, the Good Design program has rewarded pioneering design from the likes of 3M Company, Apple Computer Inc., Coca-Cola Co., General Electric Co., LG Electronics Inc., Microsoft Corp., Samsung Electronics, United Technologies, and hundreds of other visionary companies.

“We are delighted that Verdant ZX, our newest smart thermostat, has been recognized by this prestigious group said Alain Belanger, Verdant’s President and CEO. “For more than seven decades the Chicago Athenaeum has been working to revive awareness about contemporary design by honoring products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have chartered new directions and pushed the envelope for competitive products in the world marketplace. It’s humbling just to be considered for this award, and a true honor to emerge a winner.

“Verdant would like to thank ALTO Design of Montreal for its vision when conceptualizing the new ZX thermostat,” Belanger said. “ZX combines all of our best energy-saving features in a sleek new design that’s easy to use and fits any décor. Not only does this award bring ALTO Design into a community of global artists who share the same ideas and dreams about industrial design, it also truly elevates ZX in the global commercial market.”
