Mark Shiflet Vice President of Facilities and Income Properties and Lee Lorimer Vice President of Human Resources
The Resorts Companies today announced the promotions of Mark Shiflet to Vice President of Facilities and Income Properties and, Lee Lorimer to Vice President of Human Resources, strengthening the company’s executive leadership team as the 100 percent employee‑owned organization continues a period of significant growth and strategic expansion.
The leadership appointments come as The Resorts Companies advances several major initiatives across its hospitality and real estate platform, including the development of the Bluestone Peak active adult community, the expansion of the Massanutten WaterPark, and the integration of Keyholder Vacations following its acquisition in December.
Shiflet has been promoted following more than 30 years of service at Massanutten Resort. He began his career in a maintenance role, developing a strong operational foundation in the skilled trades before advancing into leadership roles across the resort’s facilities operations. As Director of Facility Operations since 2020, he led a complex division spanning 18 departments and more than 400 employees.
As Vice President of Facilities and Income Properties, Shiflet will oversee facilities operations and the company’s income property portfolio, helping ensure the organization’s infrastructure and real estate assets support continued expansion across the resort. His leadership will play an important role in supporting major development initiatives, including infrastructure and operational planning for Bluestone Peak and the Massanutten WaterPark expansion, while continuing to advance operational excellence across the resort’s facilities and property portfolio.
In his new role, Lorimer will oversee human resources strategy across all companies, properties, and locations within The Resorts Companies portfolio. He will lead initiatives focused on talent acquisition, leadership development, team member engagement, and organizational effectiveness, while also helping guide workforce planning and integration efforts related to the company’s recent acquisition of Keyholder Vacations. Since joining the organization, Lorimer has helped modernize HR systems, strengthen leadership development programs, and align talent strategies with the company’s broader business objectives.
Lorimer brings nearly three decades of human resources leadership experience across hospitality, healthcare, technology, retail, and manufacturing sectors, including prior leadership roles with Wellstar Healthcare and Wyndham Worldwide. His promotion reflects the company’s continued commitment to supporting its employee‑owners and creating meaningful opportunities for professional development, engagement, and long‑term career growth across the organization.
“These promotions reflect Lee and Mark’s strong leadership and their deep commitment to our people and our mission,” said Matthias Smith, Executive Vice President of Resort Performance for The Resorts Companies. “As we continue to grow, we remain focused on delivering consistently on our mission and values while creating opportunities for both business growth and employee growth. Their leadership will help ensure we continue building a culture where our team members can develop, engage, and succeed as employee‑owners.”
Steve Krohn, President of The Resorts Companies, said the promotions reflect the organization’s focus on developing leaders from within as it continues to expand its hospitality and real estate platform.
“Our company continues to evolve during a period of meaningful growth across our properties and development projects,” said Krohn. “Mark and Lee represent the type of leadership that has helped our company grow over the years, and their experience will be invaluable as we continue building for the future.”
