SPI Software Expands Room Sales Optimization with GDS and OTA Interfaces

In the same way that transportation network companies Uber and Lyft have built highly successful business models based on unused automobile capacity, SPI Software now provides timeshare and vacation club operators a similar opportunity to sell excess room inventory through widely disbursed global channels.   In conjunction with our interface partners, SiteMinder and TravelClick, SPI’s Orange Property Management System offers two-way, real-time integration connections to Global Distribution Systems (“GDS”) such as Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, and Worldspan, and to Online Travel Agency (“OTA”) online travel websites like Booking.com, Expedia.com, Priceline.com and more.

The SPI two-way GDS/OTA interface allows potential guests to book reservations, modify or cancel existing ones. Permits resorts to update rate, availability, restrictions, and inventory information in real-time. The automated SPI Orange system updates ensure that management reports are always in parity between GDS/OTA channels. A central pool of inventory allows each timeshare property to sell through last available unit on any channel where there is demand.  Using this channel management solution will allow resorts to maximize their revenue by increasing their distribution and driving more GDS/OTA bookings, while reducing costs and time spent updating rates and inventory across various channels.

The power of SPI’s integrated GDS and OTA solutions are evident in the distribution channel statistics.  According to eMarkerter research, “worldwide digital travel sales will surpass $533 billion in 2015, a 13.3% increase from 2014.” Also, according to TravelClick GDS capability will “reach 1 million agents when they are in the process of booking a room.”

“As a comprehensive software developer for the timeshare resort industry, SPI is very pleased to offer integrated, online access to global GDS and OTA booking,” says George Stemper, CEO of SPI Software; through these interfaces, resorts can now have a seamless integration with world-class channel management platforms to leverage available room inventory for optimized revenue.”

Founded in 1978, SPI Software provides resort developers and operators of timeshare, vacation clubs and mixed-use properties with Web-based and Microsoft.NET-based software solutions.

SPI’s flagship software product, Orange Enterprise, includes modules for marketing, sales, property management (PMS), finance, maintenance fee and receivables servicing, centralized reservations (CRS), owner services, advanced web reporting and website applications.  SPI’s Orange HOA delivers complete property management with web based dues invoicing and collections along with online owner and transient reservations.
