Richard Coleman Named CEO at American Resort Management

Richard Coleman has been named Chief Executive Officer of American Resort Management, a growing hospitality management company with offices in Erie, Pennsylvania and Grand Prairie, Texas. A co-founder of American Resort Management, Coleman brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the hospitality, destination resort, and attractions industry. His career has encompassed extensive work in hotel, food and beverage, conference center, amusement and waterpark development, and management. Coleman’s expertise includes development, financing, branding, launch initiatives and daily management of single and multi-unit properties.

With more than three decades of work in the resort and hotel industry, Coleman is known for his success in managing the hotel and resort leadership teams through clear communications, strategies, and tactics that create superior guest experiences. Coleman is uniquely skilled in balancing the priorities of the hotel owner as well as the needs of the property. He is an exceptional problem-solver while also being a visionary when it comes to public/private partnerships, activation strategies and managing capital improvements.

From acquisition to site development, selecting technology to oversee daily operations, Coleman’s expertise includes numerous large-scale hotel, resort and theme attraction projects totaling over more than $1 billion. Whether it is identifying USDA or other non-traditional sources of funding to working through EB-5 visa requirements, Coleman and his team are skilled in tackling the most complex projects and bringing them to fruition on time and in the budget.

“As the operator of the City of Grand Prairie’s Epic Waters Indoor Water Park, Rick Coleman has been essential to our huge success,” said Tom Hart, City Manager of Grand Prairie. “Rick and his team bring innovative ideas and best practices to the table, helping Epic Waters earn recognitions such as the 2018 Leading Edge Award from the World Waterpark Association for its creativity in the development of new themes, facilities, programs, services or operational concepts in the water attractions industry. ARM and the properties and parks it has under management have earned numerous industry awards from TripAdvisor and the World Waterpark Association as well as coveted “Best of” lists in their respective communities. In 2017, Coleman expanded operations of ARM by establishing a regional office in Grand Prairie to better serve clients in Texas and beyond. The newest office is currently engaged in signature projects in Austin, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Foley, AL; and Long Island, NY. Other projects will soon be announced in Oregon, Illinois and Kansas.
