Resort Travel & Xchange’s Driving Force for Community Improvement

The timeshare industry’s leading company for exceptional exchange services, Resort Travel & Xchange, has once again demonstrated its commitment to creating positive community experiences with charitable donations during the second quarter.

At the start of 2017 RTX developed an official Charitable Giving Plan outlining the company’s corporate social responsibility goals. Promoting a higher level of engagement, the plan’s mission states that “RTX is committed to being a driving force in improving our community through employee volunteerism and corporate support.  We will better the lives of our neighbors through focusing on initiatives to engage youth and eliminate poverty, provide for a healthy community, and ensure the safety of all creatures.”

Resort Travel & Xchange supported several organizations during its second quarter, including Helpmate, a free emergency shelter that provides counseling and support; United Way, a nonprofit advocating for health, education, and financial stability; Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), an organization serving those in need by bringing together volunteers, donors, businesses, and churches; and Just Economics, which works to educate, advocate, and organize for a just and stable local economy in North Carolina.

RTX employees raised approximately $500 worth of items for Helpmate through a donation drive and contributed an additional $500 toward Just Economics’ Just Brew It festival as a Pale Ale level sponsor and donated a $75 gift basket for the raffle event.

Between ABCCM and United Way, RTX volunteered 52 hours of employee time. Resort Travel & Xchange’s Charitable Giving Plan offers employees up to four hours of paid community service activities per quarter.

This quarter, employees volunteered during ABCCM’s Operation Inasmuch, where they prepared and served lunch to those in need at the downtown crisis center. During United Way’s Days of Impact, employees volunteered their time at the North Asheville YMCA, helping clean up and revitalize the garden and outdoor areas.

RTX will continue to actively engage its community each quarter with new local charities and creative ideas to give back. To learn more about RTX’s commitment to the community, read about its Charitable Giving Plan for 2017 here.
