Resort Trades Supports AMDETUR as Media Sponsor

Resort Trades, a monthly B2B publication distributed to timeshare (vacation ownership) industry professionals, announced they will be a Media Sponsor of AMDETUR at their annual conference to be held in June. As part of Resort Trades’ international outreach, the company’s CEO Tim Wilson and Publisher Sharon Scott, RRP, will attend the meeting in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco Mexico at the Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center, June 20-21.

“Resort Trades is a media sponsor for a number of vital timeshare industry organizations including ARDA, C.A.R.E. and now AMDETUR,” says Scott. “Without the lobbying efforts, networking opportunities and educational services of these organizations, there would be no way to control our industry’s message and no protection against the negative impact made by ‘bad players.’ We always wish to encourage not only resort professionals, but also suppliers and vendors who serve the community, to support these associations whenever possible.”

“We met the president of AMDETUR, Carlo Trujillo {pictured above} , at the C.A.R.E. conference in Virginia Beach. Carlos made it clear that in order to support his organization, promoting attendance at the conference was imperative. We shared with him that several other meetings we had witnessed earlier had been sparsely attended.”

“We need everyone’s support at this time,” says Trujillo. “Without it, the industry itself is weakened. The resort industry in Mexico is a large part of the economy, so that makes it even more important.”

AMDETUR, the trade association representing timeshare resort developers in Mexico, was established in 1987 “as a result of the rapid and sustained growth of Mexico’s tourist resort developers and the need to maintain a solid front for negotiating and working together with authorities and private enterprise, to develop standards and define an appropriate regulatory system that would support the Mexican tourist real estate industry.” Click here for more information about AMDETUR.
