President and CEO of Canadian Vacation Ownership Association (CVOA) Named Best Industry Leader

Jon Zwickel, President and CEO of the Canadian Vacation Ownership Association (CVOA) has been named Best Industry Leader in the 2017 Perspective Magazine Awards.

Considered to be one of the highest accolades in the timeshare industry, the Perspective Magazine Awards program was launched in 2011 as the only global recognition program of its kind.  This year marked the 7th annual awards, where nominees entered to win one of 28 different awards. Winners were determined by a panel of four judges along with online votes from their industry peers.  Each judge represented 20 percent of the nominee’s overall score and the peer vote accounted for the remaining 20 percent.

Zwickel was named Best Industry Leader primarily for his influence in transforming the CVOA (recently rebranded from CRDA) into a sustainable industry voice in just three years. Since his tenure, membership is at an all-time high, industry leaders are motivated to support CVOA, the association is viable, and the value proposition is irrefutable.

As a proven visionary leader, Zwickel was selected because of his committed efforts to advocate for CVOA and the vacation ownership industry, particularly in Canada.

“I am honored to receive this coveted award,” said Zwickel. “As the President and CEO of CVOA, I am dedicated to “exploring the business of vacations,” which just happens to be our new tagline.”

Diane Hounsome, Chair of the CVOA Board and Owner of The Cottages at Port Stanton, congratulated Zwickel on his award.  “As an industry advocate, CVOA is grateful to have an industry leader like Jon at our helm.  We are looking forward to making even more strides to serve the vacation ownership business here in Canada and abroad.”

CVOA is Canada’s only association dedicated to representing the interests of the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Since its founding 1980, the organization has become Canada’s preeminent industry association representing all forms of vacation ownership. CVOA membership is a community of active industry leaders committed to promoting and maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct within the Canadian vacation ownership industry, creating B-2-B and networking opportunities between Members, and educating consumers as to the benefits of vacation ownership.
