One-of-a-Kind Planters and Garden Accents

The Brookfield Co. got it’s start the way many new businesses do- the founder couldn’t find a product she needed. Hilda Gilkeson Jones was searching for well-designed, weather durable planters for large plants while landscaping her garden. “We’re artists, doing our own landscaping and we just couldn’t find good choices” says Jones, who co-owns the 30 yr. old company with her friend and fellow artist, John Cline. “We started the business to offer what we could not find.”

The product line has grown significantly since the beginning. Now offered in addition to planters are fountains, birdbaths, benches, garden sculptures and miniature cottages- all weather durable in all climates.

The Brookfield Co. still manages the entire process from initial design to mold making to production and shipping. This allows the small but strong team at Brookfield to better serve it’s clientele. Often specific surfaces or custom logos are requested and these needs can be met quickly and efficiently.

“Excellent customer service is a top priority. Our products are not sold through ‘big box’ stores, therefore, independents and landscape professionals can offer unique and superior landscape accessories” says Jones. “We can provide the right products for the job or occasion in a timely manner.”

One of Brookfield’s flagship products is a collection of elegant Lion Motif containers, which feature magnificently sculpted lions heads and ribboning. Brookfield’s Garden Cottage Collection also stands out from other miniatures on the market. They are handmade from Hypertufa and finished in beautiful colors. The designs are the essence of Old World dwellings, they age beautifully in the garden. “The scale is a bit larger than other Cottages offered for miniature gardens, giving them more significance” says Jones. “All the products in our line stand out for their good design and craftsmanship and yet, they are items that enhance the landscape rather than upstaging it.”
