New Entrant to Vacation Ownership in Brazil Joins Interval International

Interval International, a leading global provider of vacation services and an operating business of ILG (Nasdaq: ILG), announced the addition of Clube Encantos de Lazer e Ferias, a points-based vacation club offering members access to eight hotels in southern Brazil, which are operated by Rede Encantos de Hotéis. Founded in 2002 by Alceu Lucas, Rede is a Gramado-based company, with significant experience in construction. Today it oversees five hotels in Gramado, along with two in Florianópolis, and one in Torres.

“The launch of Clube Encantos de Lazer e Ferias places Rede Encantos de Hotéis on the leading edge of vacation ownership in southern Brazil, with its properties and sales galleries located in two very highly visited destinations,” said Marcos Agostini, Interval’s executive vice president of global sales and business development. “We’re very pleased to be working with such a well-respected company and to add its properties to Interval’s growing resort network in Brazil.”

The town of Gramado is reminiscent of a Swiss mountain village, complete with chalet-style architecture. With 78 units and a restaurant, Encantos do Sul Hotel is close to museums, stores, and chocolate factories, five minutes from the city’s trendy Coberta Street. Steps from the main street, Encantos Charme Hotel includes 47 units, a charming lobby area with a fireplace, as well as a restaurant. In front of the portico leading to the city center, Encantos Portal Hotel, has 37 rooms and a restaurant. Located in Gramado’s most elegant neighborhood, Encantos Lago Hotel offers 30 units and Alemanha Encantada, a renowned gourmet restaurant that attracts thousands of guests every year. A landmark in the heart of the city, Encantos Hortênsias Hotel features 111 studios, a restaurant, swimming pool, spa, and fitness center.

“With 15 years of experience in hospitality, we saw the opportunity to expand our business by creating our own vacation club in the proven shared ownership industry,” said Lucas. “Working with the experienced Interval team has accelerated our entrance into this sector and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship.”

With more than 60 beaches, the island portion of Florianópolis is a favorite of vacationers from nearby Argentina and Uruguay. On one of the island’s best beaches, Encantos Lexus Ingleses Hotel has 59 units, a restaurant, spa, swimming pools, fitness center, and beach service. Close to the beach, Encantos Golden Hotel includes 123 units, a restaurant, swimming pool, sports court, and fitness center.

The coastal city of Torres is a popular second-home destination for residents of Porto Alegre. During high season, the city’s population increases from 40,000 to 300,000. Located a third of a mile from the beach, Encantos Torres Hotel has 148 rooms with full kitchens. On-site amenities include a restaurant, swimming pool, and sports court.

New purchasers at Clube Encantos de Lazer e Ferias will be enrolled as individual members of Interval International, entitling them to a host of year-round benefits, including the opportunity to exchange their points for stays at other resorts in Interval’s global network.
