New “Clean” to Pool Water Sanitization
It’s time for resort owners and managers to move outside their comfort zone for water sanitization and open a new comfort zone for swimmers. By moving to on-site hypochlorite generation technology, also known as saline or salt chlorination, from ChlorKing®, you can fill your pools and spas with water that’s well-sanitized and sparkling clear with a mineral-water feel.
It won’t burn swimmers’ eyes and will feel more comfortable on their skin and bathing suits. Nor will it burn a hole in your budget; rather, it will make you feel more comfortable about a lower-cost way to improve your pool and spa operations.
That’s because ChlorKing gives your swimming pools and spas the most cost-effective, safest water sanitization systems available. Our patented, heavy-duty Chlor SM salt chlorination and NEX-GENpH onsite batch chlorine generation systems keep your water clean and lower your annual operating costs substantially by using salt instead of chlorine. Over time, prices for bulk chlorine tend to rise much faster than the cost of salt. As a hazardous material, bulk chlorine carries additional costs for special transportation vehicles, delivery limitations and storage facilities. When mishandled with muriatic acid, which is used to balance pH in pool water, it can cause a fire or create dangerous gases.
Saline or salt chlorination, has a proven track record for swimming pool chlorination, dating back to the 1970s, when ChlorKing was founded in South Africa. Adding salt to pool water results in a salt concentration of only 0.35 – 0.5 percent, which is 10 percent of the concentration of seawater.
A worldwide innovator in on-site chlorine generation, ChlorKing moved manufacturing and distribution to Atlanta, GA in 1999 as on-site chlorine generation and salt chlorination were starting to make gains against traditional granular or liquid chlorine to sanitize water. Today, ChlorKing has more than 8,000 commercial installations worldwide, all served by a global support network.
ChlorKing meets the sanitization needs of commercial pools and spas with three major product lines:
Chlor SM Systems – Designed for commercial pools from 2,000 to 1,000,000 gallons, these highly reliable systems can last 10 years or more. We have reduced their size by 50 percent and weight by 33 percent. A single technician (instead of the usual two) can install a unit in 25 to 30 percent less installation time. Power consumption is 50 percent less. ChlorKing offers three unique salt chlorination systems to fit any commercial pool or spa:
1. The CHLOR-MSM MINI-reverse polarity
series
2. The CHLOR-SM reverse polarity series
3. The CLASSIC-forward polarity series
NEX-GENpH Onsite Chlorine Generators – Engineered specifically for heavily used pools, they produce chlorine on-site for less than one-third the cost of chlorine without the safety and cost issues of bulk chlorine. A patented technology produces pH-neutral liquid chlorine (bleach) from salt stored in a feeder in the pump room. The system does not require salt in the pool. All you need to do is add salt to the feeder. Four NEX-GEN models can produce 12 to 96 pounds of chlorine per day. NEX-GEN is the only commercial onsite batch chlorine generator in the United States that is NSF-50 certified. If you project a service life of 10 years, you can cut production costs by more than 67 percent.
Sentry Aqua Guard UV Light Systems – Used as a second level of protection, ultraviolet lights inactivate pathogens such as cryptosporidium, e-coli, etc. faster than chlorine. Sentry systems offer the unique benefit using dual output lamp technology. While UV is being produced at 254nm, ozone is also being produced at 185nm, adding to the sanitization of the water flowing through the chamber. This additional sanitizer helps reduce the amount of chlorine required. Sentry UV systems combat chloramines in indoor pools and spas. Chloramines are caused by ammonia from sweat and urine mixing with chlorine, producing a nasty smell.
ChlorKing backs up our systems’ reliability with our 36- and 60-month Equipment Supply & Maintenance Programs that cover the cost of the equipment, installation and maintenance for a flat monthly fee for the life of the program.
