What a life changing experience we had in Italy with Send Me On Vacation. We are a group of 8 breast cancer survivors from 3 countries (US, Canada & Australia.) We all met each other for the first time in Cortona, Italy on our SMOV vacation. We were awarded this trip through Send Me On Vacation because we are all battling late stage breast cancer and are in need of emotional healing. The strain on your brain is insane. Send Me On Vacation offer’s us the opportunity to pull it all together and heal our body, mind and spirit. The retreats they offer around the world give us the chance to re-build our self image, create a stronger mental attitude and re-infuse happiness and joy back into our lives.
Finding a charity like “Send Me On Vacation” is a true blessing for anyone with breast cancer. Meeting other recipients that are living with breast cancer gives us a sense of normalcy which is nearly impossible to find post cancer diagnosis. It’s not easy to jump back into life again and manage the fear, anger and pain that every survivor feels. You need the tools to effectively navigate forward and live successful with cancer. It’s not something your doctor or a hospital teaches you.
Every one of us has walked away from this experience very different than when we came here. We have learned so much, we are so much stronger and our hope for the future has been restored. This gift is PRICELESS! Send Me On Vacation depends on vacation sponsors to host these trips.
