Marriott Vacations Worldwide Earns Spot on the Orlando Sentinel’s “Top 100 Companies” List

Marriott Vacations Worldwide (NYSE: VAC) was recently recognized as one of Orlando Sentinel’s “Top 100 Companies” for 2018. Marriott Vacations Worldwide ranked seventh in the Large Division, making it the highest-ranked Orlando company in the vacation ownership industry. The “Top 100 Companies” program is created by the Orlando Sentinel, in partnership with Best Companies Group, to recognize and honor the best places of employment in Orlando, benefiting the city’s economy, workforce and businesses.

“Receiving this prestigious award from our hometown newspaper is truly an honor,” said Stephen P. Weisz, president and chief executive officer. “Our dedication to helping our associates Grow, Thrive and Care, both at work and home, helps this company continue to be respected by our peers and a place where associates can develop their career.”

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • Publicly or privately held business;
  • Have a facility in Central Florida (Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia County);
  • Have at least 15 employees working in Central Florida;
  • Must be in business a minimum of one year

Organizations from across Central Florida entered the two-part survey to determine the Orlando Sentinel’s “Top 100 Companies.” The first part of the survey assessed each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part measured the employee experience through a questionnaire. The combined scores determined the top organizations and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration, survey and analysis process and determined the final rankings.
