Registration is now open for HD Expo + Conference 2020, North America’s largest event for hospitality design. A bold, experiential showcase of products, services, and industry thought leaders will return to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from May 5th-7th, 2020, setting the stage for never-before-seen innovations, interactive experiences, and insightful educational programming.
“HD Expo is the stage for next-generation product innovations shaping the hospitality design industry,” said Kevin Gaffney, Vice President and Group Show Director for HD Expo. “It is a must-attend event that creates long-lasting professional connections, sparks ideas and inspiration, and pushes the hospitality industry forward. It’s always a good idea to register early in order to take advantage of early low rates.”
HD Expo will move to a Tuesday-Thursday format this year. The switch in the days will allow for attendees to get the most out of the show during the workweek while freeing up the weekend.
HD Expo’s official opening reception will be hosted on the show floor from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5th, with an open invitation for all exhibitors and attendees to participate in exciting activations and giveaways, offering a celebratory kickoff event to mingle and network. On Wednesday, May 6th, the highly anticipated annual Party by the Pool returns from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., hosted at the recently renovated Palms Resort.
HD Expo 2020 is making its + Conference sessions even more convenient to attend with the brand-new HD Theater and Learning Lounge, two new dedicated spaces built-out directly on the show floor that will host the three-day schedule of riveting panels and presentations offering a 360-degree look at the hospitality design industry. Some of the industry’s biggest names and rising stars will take the stage to inform, educate and inspire, while at the same time, many panels will explore the trends and influences from outside the industry inspiring and affecting the hospitality community. From the future of hospitality design to cruise case studies, the robust roster of CEU/LU-accredited conference sessions will offer something for everyone.
“With the addition of + Conference, we’re emphasizing the valuable education that happens at HD Expo, as it is a 360-degree event for hospitality design. The show is not only about finding the latest and greatest products, but also for exclusive networking and education,” said Stacy Shoemaker Rauen, Senior Vice President of Emerald Expositions’ Design Group and Editor in Chief of Hospitality Design.
Experience is key in today’s hospitality market, and outdoor tented camps and glamping resorts are leading the charge, creating immersive, one-with-nature excursions for those looking for something beyond the traditional hotel model. HD Park will recreate that magic on the show floor as a place where people can connect with colleagues, listen to a fireside conversation between industry leaders or grab food from one of the food trucks.
In partnership with Hospitality Design and Hilton, the Box challenged 11 design firms to design the guestroom of the future in only 24 hours during the 2019 HD Expo event. Judged by a jury of industry leaders, the winning concept from Miami design firm Urban Robot Associates will be brought to life on the 2020 show floor, allowing attendees to walk through and experience the space. Urban Robot’s wellness-inspired guestroom, which draws inspiration from the sophisticated yet eclectic destination of Tulum, Mexico, will be fully built out, incorporating products from 16 sponsoring brands: Artonomy, Kohler, Mohawk, Fabricut, Bryan Ashley, Hubbardton Forge, Tino Stone, Innovative Safes, Porcelanosa, Koroseal, Dormakaba, Quick Drain, Inncom, LG, Mirror Image, and LPO Image.
HD Expo recently executed a complete rebrand to align more closely with Hospitality Design magazine, the driving force behind the event’s programming and content. The updated, modern logo is reflective of the magazine’s streamlined look and feels, while maintaining its own identity through the use of a turquoise color palette. The rebrand also includes the launch of the newly designed HD Expo website – www.hdexpo.com.
“HD Expo not only offers the latest in hospitality product designs from leading global brands but also one-of-a-kind learning sessions, exceptional networking events and unparalleled inspiration for industry professionals. We invite our exhibitors and attendees to gather, share, connect and simply have a good time,” added Gaffney.
