Grand Pacific Resorts Raises $7,000 for Tahoe’s High Fives Foundation with #HelmetsAreCool

Grand Pacific Resorts, a timeshare management company in Carlsbad, collaborated with local Tahoe resorts: Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge, Tahoe Beach & Ski Club, and Red Wolf Lodge at Squaw Valley, and timeshare rental platform ResorTime, to support High Fives Foundation. The fundraising campaign #HelmetsAreCool also raised injury prevention awareness within the community of mountain sport enthusiasts.

Grand Pacific Resorts and High Fives Foundation joined forces to promote helmet safety through helmet decorating activities and opportunities to win prizes. The campaign kicked off with decorating helmets in The Village at Squaw Valley broadcasting on KOLO8. Hundreds of community members signed-up onsite and thousands more watching on television signed-up online to show support. For every sign-up, Grand Pacific Resorts donated $3 to High Fives Foundation and entered supporters to win a SMITH Optics Helmets and a grand prize of three nights at Tahoe Beach & Ski Club, plus two lift tickets.

Watch the surprise check presentation video to Roy Tuscany, founder of High Fives Foundation, and an athlete where they share how the funds will make a positive impact on the community. Roy said, “Donations like this provide hours of training for adaptive athletes at our state of the art C. R. Johnson Healing Center. We’ll be able to provide hundreds of hours at no cost to those in need of financial aid, helping give the incredible opportunity for our athletes to recover and regain.”

Renee Wagner, Director of Creative Services & Brand Management of Grand Pacific Resorts presented the check and shared the sentiment behind the partnership, “We watch families flock to our mountain resorts to enjoy action sports like skiing and snowboarding. Through our partnership with High Fives Foundation, we hope to educate our guests about mountain safety so they can continue to come back and vacation with us year-after-year, creating memorable experiences in the Lake Tahoe area.”

Grand Pacific Resorts and High Fives Foundation continued to raise awareness online utilizing the social media reach of all organizations involved. The innovative fundraiser reached over 80,000 supporters on Facebook helping raise a total of $7,000 over three months for High Fives Foundation that was presented to the charity on March 10th, 2017.
