Global Connections, Inc. Offers Training Certification Program

Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), the well-known travel club fulfillment and service provider of Global Discovery Vacations (GDV), is committed to providing ongoing education and training to all of its employees.

GCI’s proprietary Global Training Certification program is dedicated to help its team be the best version of themselves. It is guided by two primary goals:

• BE SMART by continually learning about GCI and GDV
• FEEL GOOD by learning how to improve personal health and wellness

The Human Resources department, headed by Michelle Zimmerman, Vice President of HR, offers various training events throughout the year and recognizes milestones with points and rewards along the way.

After attending in-house and other approved webinars and classes, GCI team members are rewarded with a plaque commemorating their achievements, a special name plate for their desk and a gift card. Ongoing certification points must be accumulated by October 31 of each year. Employees can check their progress on the personalized Point Tracker on the GCI Employee Intranet.

A wide range of classes on various subjects are offered each year, ranging from “Financial Wellbeing” to “Employee Handbook Training.” Two of the most favorite courses are “Career Growth at Global Connections “ and “Essential Oils/Wellness.”

“We find that many of our most successful classes have been suggested by employees themselves. They know what information will help them achieve success on the job,” said Michelle Zimmerman. “Of course, the awards and recognition are an important part of the program, but we find that most of our employees are equally motivated by achieving professional and personal goals.”
