Global Connections, Inc. Names Employee of the Year

Travel industry leader Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), a travel club fulfillment and service provider, has announced that Heather Love has received The Lyons Award for Employee of the Year.

The Lyons Award, named after Global Connections President and CEO Tom Lyons, is awarded to an exceptional employee selected from more than 200 candidates. Company executives narrow the field down to a group of eight deserving employees and then select the winner. The winner receives a crystal engraved trophy as well as a cash bonus.

Heather Love, who works in the travel fulfillment center in Clearwater, Florida has a position which demands multi-tasking. Anytime members need to book a vacation or want suggestions, it is Heather who guides them through the process. She spends time with each member to ensure that their needs are met. In addition, she has the task of organizing the Florida office, including employee events and activities.

“Heather is an important player on our team,” said Kelli Brazier, GCI’s Director of Fulfillment. “She is thoroughly connected to members and other employees, making everybody’s day better with a fantastic attitude and ability to get things done.”

“Our entire team makes me proud. It was a difficult choice selecting only one for this award,” said Tom Lyons. “Each person contributes special skills and talents to our organization and we all pull together toward the common goal of providing affordable annual vacations.”

Other GCI employees named as finalists include Leslie Castro (Human Resources/Corporate Office), Marla Ducey (Travel Department Reception/Corporate Office), Lisa Duncan (Housekeeping/Myrtle Beach, SC), Debbie Harris (Condominium Department/Corporate Office), Magdalena Hernandez (Housekeeping/ Bamboo Beach Club/Clearwater, Florida), Diana Salazar (Member Services/Corporate Office) and Corey Thibodeaux (Creative Department/Corporate Office).

GCI employs more than 200 team members who work in the corporate home office in Overland Park, Kansas; Clearwater, Florida-based travel fulfillment center and on-site at GCI’s resort properties throughout the United States.
