Global Connections, Inc. Joins 4,000 Hotels and Resorts in Clean the World’s Efforts

Travel industry leader Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), travel club fulfillment and service provider of Global Discovery Vacations, has made a monetary contribution to Clean the World (www.cleantheworld.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the environment and saving millions of lives by distributing recycled soap and hygiene products to children and families suffering from high mortality rates brought on by unsanitary conditions.

Clean the World’s four distinct programs provide a holistic approach to integrating soap with a comprehensive water, sanitation and hygiene program.  The organization partners with the hospitality industry for monetary donations, hotel/resort recycling, team building events and volunteer opportunities for all ages (beginning at age 8).

Global Connections’   contribution underwrites hygiene kits for central Florida’s homeless population. Additionally, GCI is initiating participation in Clean the World’s waste reduction program at its resorts.  This program recycles discarded soap bars and plastic amenity bottles to reduce costs, protect the environment and preserve natural resources. Some of these items are distributed to relief organizations directly and others are used in team building events assembling hygiene kits.

According to Steven M. Grecco, Director of Sales & Marketing for GCI “the association with Clean the World is a natural fit for Global Connections.  We are proud to support their efforts and become part of the global hospitality network that is committed to helping combat the two top killers of kids worldwide, pneumonia and cholera, which frequently can be prevented with hygienic regimens using good old soap and water.”

Since 2009, Clean the World has collected and distributed hygiene products in more than 100 countries worldwide.  These recycled hygiene products are then distributed to impoverished people and those affected by natural disasters from Earthquakes to Tsunamis.  The organization partners with World Vision, Children International, Floating Doctors and Samantain’s Purse to name a few private non-profit organizations.
