Global Connections Inc. Gives Back to Local Kansas City Community

Travel industry leader Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), the highly-respected resort developer, travel club fulfillment and service provider has once again played an important role in its local community by supporting the Guns ‘n’ Hoses event with donations of time, support and financial contributions.
|
Sponsored by GCI, Guns ‘n’ Hoses is held annually at the Kansas City Convention Center benefiting S.A.F.E., the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund, a not-for-profit organization of the Kansas City Crime Commission. S.A.F.E. supports the families of Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Services Personnel in the Kansas City metropolitan area who have perished in the line of duty. To help ease the pain felt by these families, S.A.F.E. provides emotional and financial support as well as college scholarships to children of first responders. Since GCI’s involvement, memorial contributions and scholarships have increased dramatically.

This year the event raised $150,238 overall. GCI donated its corporate headquarters conference room for monthly meetings held by the Guns ‘n’ Hoses Board; GCI team members provided support in facilitating the event and GCI’s in-house Creative Department contributed resources and skills to create billboards, programs, and marketing outreach. GCI also provided two 1- week vacations in resort condominiums: one for a condo accommodation in Las Vegas and one at their resort, White Oak Lodge and Resort in Gatlinburg, TN. Tom Lyons, President, and CEO of GCI, not only serves on the board for the successful event but also is a co-emcee during the “heads/tails” game, the silent auction and wine raffle.
