Global Connections Doubles Down on Charity Golf Tournaments

OVERLAND PARK, KS – June 13, 2018 –Travel industry leader Global Connections, Inc. (GCI), the highly-respected resort developer, travel club fulfillment and service provider doubled down on participating and sponsoring golf tournaments during the month of May.

A long-time supporter of S.A.F.E., Tom Lyons, GCI’s President and CEO, serves on its Board of Directors. In May, GCI sponsored and participated in the philanthropic organizations’ annual golf tournament.  S.A.F.E., the Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund, is a not-for-profit organization of the Kansas City Crime Commission.  S.A.F.E. supports the families of Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Services Personnel in the Kansas City metropolitan area who have perished in the line of duty. To help ease the pain felt by these families, it provides emotional and financial support as well as college scholarships to children of first responders.

Earlier last May, GCI also participated in the Child Protection Center’s 8th Annual Golf tournament.  The mission of the Child Protection Center is to respect the child and protect their voice throughout an investigation of child abuse. The Center accomplishes its mission by providing a safe, child-friendly setting in which to interview child abuse victims, coordinating investigative team services as well as mental health and medical services, and providing supportive services to assist children and their families as they begin the path toward healing.

Tom Lyon says “we are pleased to stand by these important causes whose work supports families and children.  Our Global Team is always ready to participate in fundraisers and charitable events to make the lives of others better and safer.”
