Global Connections ‘Company Enrichment’ Programs Support Employee Acquisition and Retention

OVERLAND PARK, KS (October 2, 2018) – Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) a well-known travel club fulfillment and service provider of Global Discovery Vacations (GDV) has established a reputation for its strong philanthropic programs and giving back to local communities.  The company also embraces a robust employee enrichment program designed to support employees and aid in hiring and retention of its team members.

“Travel by its very nature is fun! At GCI, we work hard while also striving to foster a fun work environment,” said Michelle Zimmerman, Director of Human Resources, “Employee well-being is key to the successful professional atmosphere here at GCI.  Whether it’s Yoga or our internal Global Training Certification, we proudly help our team members grow their careers and expand their personal achievements.”

From providing free flu shots and holding a companywide 12 Week Fitness Challenge, GCI is committed to the enrichment of each individual in its employ.  This year, the Human Resources department led the Health and Wellness 5k Challenge—also called the 5K Finishers Program. The corporate office hosted three on-site 5Ks, one in Spring, Summer and Fall.  Additionally, employees are challenged to complete one more 5K of their own choice. Another popular benefit is the Educational Assistance Program (EAP). Any employee with GCI for more than six months is eligible for the EAP that helps pay for continuing education to improve job-related skills.  They may also elect to enroll in classes which will enhance their ability to qualify for promotions and other positions within the company.

GCI employs over 150 professionals at its corporate office in Overland Park, KS and three member fulfillment and property management offices in Clearwater, FL, Orlando, FL and Myrtle Beach, SC.  Global Connections’ travel club, Global Discovery Vacations, is marketed and sold through independent sales distributorships located in cities across the United States.
