Global Connections, Inc., the highly-respected resort developer, travel club fulfillment and service provider of Global Discovery Vacations (GDV) thanked their team members for a great 2017 with an event filled week of fun, prizes, healthy treats and surprise activities.
The week kicked off with a Day of Zen. Team Members enjoyed chair massages, yoga, aromatherapy treatments, snacks and spa water. Managers dressed as super heroes handed out relaxation lotions and bath bombs while their teams kicked back and allowed themselves to be “pampered” during the special day.
Each day had an activity culminating in opportunities to win raffle tickets for big prizes at the end of the week. Tuesday a huge jar was filled with candy. The winner who guessed the number of “mini-Starbursts” received all the candy, plus raffle tickets. Wednesday and Thursday saw more games and Thursday the daytime team went to a favorite nearby restaurant for dinner and adult beverages. The hard-working evening staff were not left out as Global Connections provided them with a full-on Taco Bar with all the trimmings.
At the Employee Appreciation Barbecue Lunch on Friday, raffle tickets were drawn for myriad prizes. Top prize was a paid Thanksgiving Friday off. Other awards included a $100 American Express gift card, massage certificates, Wine and Cheese baskets, Blue Apron gift card, an Echo Dot, luggage and “leave work early” cards, to name a few.
“We have the best team in the world,” praised Tom Lyons, President and CEO of Global Connections. “We try to let them know all year long how important they are to us. This is the one week though that is all about them.”
