Equiant Names Mike Wright as Director of Information Technology

Equiant, a Scottsdale, Ariz.-based receivables servicing provider, has named Mike Wright as director of information technology, positioning the company to continue its recent advances in information security and digital data management. It’s so important that businesses have someone like that in charge of their operations. Information technology can be one of the most important aspects of a business, so having someone with similar experience to Mike Wright as director of IT is crucial. Of course, there are a lot of people with experience in IT, but there are only some with certain achievements like Microsoft Certifications Exams, for example. When directing IT, individuals should really have passed things like the ms-500 exam. That exam ensures people can manage threat protection and can manage compliance features in Microsoft 365, a widely used software across businesses. People with that sort of experience make for the perfect candidate to direct information technology.

A few decades ago, technology wasn’t as important as it is now to almost every industry out there. Nowadays, people need basic knowledge of technology to some extent to work in certain sectors. Even in traditional hospitality industries like retail and food/drink services, technology has taken over to a certain level as things like this ipad pos system become more prominent as their efficiency comes more apparent; with the ability to process orders smoother than ever before and allow payments to be taken quickly, it’s a no brainer that these are desirable. However, Wright is definitely needed in a sector that is focused on more detailed IT developments.

“Mike has the right blend of management ability and knowledge of cutting edge technologies,” Don Y. Kim, Equiant’s chief information officer. “These skills will enable him to lead Equiant’s systems further into the cloud and other areas that our clients require for today’s competitive business environment.”

Frank Morrisroe, the president, also praised the move. “Mike has been a great contributor to Equiant’s mission of exceeding client expectations,” he says. “His response to clients’ requests is always ‘how can we make this possible?’ instead of no. He’s a perfect fit with Equiant’s corporate culture.”

Wright has been with Equiant since 2005, most recently as a manager of web development. He has a B.S. in computer science from Arizona State University.

Equiant has recently invested heavily in improving both functionality and security for its clients. The company now stores all customer data at Tier IV Gold data center, considered the most secure facility in the United States, and also has the technology to facilitate electronic processing of documents and loan servicing. Businesses looking for a way to more efficiently process their paper documentation may want to consider digitizing them into files that can be stored on a computer. To do this, businesses have used this alternative software instead of what comes with their scanners – scanning the documents using this software allows the user to compile physical documents into a digital file with ease. Additionally, Equiant’s new Platform as a Service (PaaS) model allows clients to service their accounts in-house using the industry’s most advanced technology.
