Gregory Crist, CEO, Association for Vacation Owners (AVO) was honored by Canadian Vacation Ownership Association (CVOA) by being awarded the prestigious Cornerstone Award at the annual Vo-Con 2019 Conference held at Fairmont Chateaux Whistler in British Columbia from 22-25 September 2019.
Now in its seventh year, the Cornerstone Award, sponsored and presented by Fiesta American Vacation Club, is awarded to an industry innovator that makes a positive impact on the vacation ownership industry, the environment, and society.
Through his leadership at AVO, Crist advocates for improvements and better protections within the vacation ownership industry and bridges the gap between vacation owners and vacation industry. In doing so, and as part of his duties as a board member at CVOA, he works tirelessly on government relations and advises industry stakeholders on legislative and regulatory issues.
“Greg’s guidance, leadership and balanced approach in support of our association and the vacation ownership industry made him a worthy recipient of our Cornerstone Award.” Said Ingrid Jarrett, President of CVOA.
Previous winners of the award include; Vacation SafeGuard, RTX, Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Clubs, National Timeshare Owners Association, Dial An Exchange, and Whistler Vacation Club.
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great team of industry professionals and to be recognized with this award for balancing consumer and industry advocacy.” Says Crist.
Attracting delegates from Canada, United States, Mexico and beyond, the theme for this year’s Vo-Con event was “To Explore the Business of Vacations” and blended networking with varied educational sessions that encouraged collaboration and sharing of information.
