Conrad Hotels and Resorts has appointed Gordon Taylor III as Director of Sales and Marketing of the Conrad Chicago, opening in spring 2016. The new, luxurious and contemporary hotel is ideally positioned on the Magnificent Mile, providing guests with immediate access to the city’s finest retail, culinary, cultural and entertainment experiences.
In his new role, Taylor is leading all sales and marketing efforts, including establishing strategic partnerships, working with the management team to achieve its overall revenue goals and building awareness of the property’s 289 guest rooms, meeting spaces and inspired, inviting culinary experiences.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Conrad Chicago family and the local community as we prepare for our spring 2016 opening,” said Taylor. “I am especially excited to promote our meeting spaces which all offer stunning 19th floor views bathed in natural light and enable direct access to our restaurant on the 20th floor and the exclusive Conrad Club and lounges on the 20th and 21st floors.”
Taylor brings an impressive portfolio of experience, having served as Director of Sales and Marketing for Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago from 2013 to 2015. During his tenure, Taylor was credited with developing and producing “Art of Blu,” the industry’s first hotel self-guided art, architecture and photography tour. Prior to that, Taylor worked at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Regency Austin Hotel and as Associate Director of Sales at Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel, where he received two Hyatt Hotels Outstanding Production Achievement Awards. His background also includes positions in sales at several Marriott Hotels & Resorts properties. In addition, Taylor has worked at the Los Angeles Marriott Event Booking Center, where he marketed and sold events for several local Marriott hotel properties.
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communication with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in business from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. He is a native of Macomb, Illinois.
