Canadian Vacation Ownership Association (CVOA) Continues to Grow

Canadian Vacation Ownership Association (CVOA) has added two more entities to its growing organization, bringing the total number of members to 53 including development companies, management firms, single resorts, exchange companies and suppliers.

GeoHoliday, a Canadian-founded company with almost 30 years of vacation ownership history, provides exchange, leisure travel and reservation services for more than 27,000 Club members. According to Dana Myers, Vice President of the Vacation Club says, “We joined CVOA because of the number of Canadian Members we have. CVOA is the only shared ownership organization which understands the unique culture of Canada and maintains strict ethical guidelines by which all of its members must abide.”

Not all of CVOA’s member companies have Canadian roots. The addition of new member El Cid Vacations Club (ECVC) reflects this. Located in Mexico, ECVC provides thousands of timeshare owners a lifetime of unforgettable vacations and endless opportunities to experience world travel. Olivier Citherlet, Director of Business Development and Marketing says the Mazatlan-based club has nearly 20% Canadian Members. “We recognize that Mexico is a prime vacation destination for Canadians and we are proud to be a member of CVOA,” says Citherlet. “CVOA keeps us appraised of the highest standards promoted and enforced by the organization and we are able to continue to educate ourselves about the rules and regulations which shape our sales and marketing operations.”

Jon Zwickel, CEO of CVOA (formerly CRDA) says, “The addition of the two new groups enhances the mix of membership and brings new and innovative ideas to our organization on many levels. We support Canadian-based companies as well as those which are interested in expanding their opportunities in Canada.”

To reflect the association’s new name, the annual convention has also been rebranded as the Vacation Ownership Conference, VO-Con. The 2017 event will be held in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia on September 12-14 at the Four Seasons Resort. Information about content, registration and sponsorship opportunities will be available shortly.

CVOA is Canada’s only association dedicated to representing the interests of the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Since its founding 1980, the organization has become Canada’s preeminent industry association representing all forms of vacation ownership. CVOA membership is a community of active industry leaders committed to promoting and maintaining a high standard of ethical conduct within the Canadian vacation ownership industry, creating B-2-B and networking opportunities between Members, and educating consumers as to the benefits of vacation ownership.
