Auroralight: ‘Landscape lighting with unparalleled customer service’

Our supplier profile this month features Auroralight, a manufacturer of high-quality landscape lighting since 1996. We interviewed Auroralight’s Michael Joye to learn more about this award-winning company.

How do you describe Auroralight?

Auroralight has earned a reputation for providing estate-quality outdoor lighting fixtures and fittings, manufactured exclusively from durable metals such as brass, copper, and stainless steel.

How did the company get started?

Fifteen years ago, working on the design and installation side of outdoor lighting for coastal properties, I saw a need for quality products that were unavailable at the time. Auroralight was born to fill a void in the lighting industry.

Can you give us an overview of your products and services?

All of our products come with a lifetime warranty that is transferrable. All products are manufactured on-site at our Carlsbad machining facility from high-quality materials. We offer a wide variety of fixtures in Halogen, LED, Metal-Halide, and compact fluorescent.

Working with lighting designers around the globe, we successfully develop custom solutions for resort properties

What are some current trends in landscape lighting?

Obviously, the green initiative and more responsible use of durable materials; adoption and expansion of the use of LED technology.

How have LEDs revolutionized the industry?

As a fixture designer, LED has allowed a whole new level of creativity. It’s expanded what can be done with light. It has allowed us to explore new concepts in shape and functionality. It has also had a huge impact on the reduction of energy and maintenance costs. From an environmental standpoint, LED has helped reduce the carbon footprint of lighting.

What about the company sets it apart from competitors?

Domestically manufactured goods of the highest quality and integrity in design and materials. Innovative, feature-rich products – they may be similar in application but product features far surpass the competition.

What have been some of the company’s greatest successes?

We are very proud to have our fixtures in place at several upscale resorts around the world: Mazagan Beach Resort in Morocco, Regent Palms Turks & Caicos and Wynn Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, to name a few.

Another point of pride is the recognition we have received via awards:

  • Architectural Products Magazine 2012 Product Innovation Award for our Telluride Hybrid Luminaire
  • ASLA Trade Show – Best Visual Appeal
  • Lightfair – Best Booth

Are there any new products and/or services on the horizon?

This year, we launched 35 new products! We recently invested in a new machine which gives us even greater capability for creative and innovative products, so definitely expect to see more from “Auroraworks!” We plan to continue pushing the envelope of integrity and innovation!
