Wyndham Supports Nadi Hospital with Equipment Donation
Wyndham Resort Denarau Island has continued its support of the local community with a donation of much-needed equipment toNadi Hospital’s maternity unit.
The resort team raised funds to purchase almost FJ$2,500 worth of medical equipment, including stethoscopes, sphygmomanometers for measuring blood pressure, stadiometers for measuring height, Dopplers to detect foetal heartbeat and intravenous infusion sets. This follows a donation in July of electric kettles, a fridge and a microwave to the hospital’s maternity unit.
Assistant Resort Manager Wesley Biutanaseva said the Wyndham Denarau Island team was passionate about providing support to mothers and their babies.
“Recently, we have had a number of our female employees take advantage of the maternity unit facilities during their pregnancies,” Mr. Biutanaseva said. “We are proud to be able to support a service that not only benefits our team members but also the greater community.”
The equipment was received by Subdivisional Medical Officer Dr. Abdul Shah and Nadi Hospital Visitor’s Board Chairperson Mohammed Israr Khan, who said the medical equipment would ensure mothers and babies were well looked after.
