Shawn Clay Travel Advisor at Travel to Go Selected as this month’s “Hero”

Shawn Clay began his career with Travel To Go nearly seven years ago and works from the company’s San Diego office. He was one of the first member-assistant specialists, later advancing to a hybrid specialist where he can provide service to all member travel needs.

Since then he has helped cross-train employees so that all agents can book condos, hotels, and all-inclusive resorts, along with travel products. This has made the company a “one-stop” shop for members without the need to forward their calls to specialists in different departments.

Several years ago Shawn received a call from a new member who wanted to send his daughter on a honeymoon. But he did not know where or at what kind of property. Shawn walked him through the process, provided suggestions, and came up with an entire package that included stays at the several Hawaiian Islands, as well as inter-island flights and hotels at highly discounted rates. Both the Travel To Go member and his daughter were delighted with Shawn’s ability to create this special trip. Since then, Shawn has booked several other trips for the member. But he says he is equally happy helping a customer with even the smallest request.

Shawn also appreciates his group of “regulars” that continue to call him back with their travel needs–it shows they both trust and appreciate the service he provides.

Tommy Middaugh, VP of New Business Development adds, “Shawn has real heart and truly cares about members on the other end of his line. He will take their travel ideas and build on them much like an architect, resulting in a most memorable vacation.”
