Mike Kogan Consulting and Pinnacle Commercial Development “Tie Warmth On” at Lunch Break

Point Pleasant, NJ-Staff members from Mike Kogan Consulting and Pinnacle Commercial Development, both of Point Pleasant, NJ spent Saturday morning at Lunch Break, a resource for the underserved in Red Bank, NJ distributing scarves to those in need.

The purpose of the visit was to “Tie Warmth On”, a program whereby those in need receive a scarf with the suggestion to “pass kindness on”.

“Tie Warmth On” is a marquis program for the Jordan Schuman Foundation for Kindness which was established to honor Jordan Schuman, a young, up-and-coming multimedia reporter killed last year in a car accident right before Christmas. One of Schuman’s last on-air reports featured a program conducted in Florence, SC which was called “Tie One On”. That program featured scarves tied to the limbs of trees with a note urging people to take a scarf if they were cold.

The MKC and Pinnacle Commercial Dev. Group created a slight variation of that theme by tying the scarves on the backs of the chairs before the clients came in to eat their breakfast. The scarves had a note which explained what the program was with the line “May the light of Jordan’s kindness keep you warm this winter.”

Over 500 scarves were given to Lunch Break that day with half of those going to the Tent City in Lakewood that afternoon.

The volunteers will be returning on February 4th to “Tie Warmth On” for a second day.

“Our goal is to get these scarves into as many hands as need them. Lunch Break gave us the opportunity to promote this program, based on kindness, in an effective and thoughtful setting,” said Claudia Lucey, Director of Marketing for the two companies.

“When you’ve been blessed with great friends and great employees, it takes very little to realize the importance of giving back After spending time at Lunch Break and seeing what they do, it made it an easy decision to partner with then for the Jordan Shuman Foundation of Kindness. Lunch Break is in the business of giving out kindness every day of the week,” said Mike Kogan, President, Mike Kogan Consulting/Pinnacle Commercial Development.
