Global Connections Celebrates Employee Appreciation Week

OVERLAND PARK, KS (December 13 , 2018) – Global Connections, Inc. (GCI) a well-known travel club fulfillment and service provider of Global Discovery Vacations (GDV) honors its employees year round.  Once a year, the company also designates a week as Employee Appreciation Week (EAW).

“We are so proud of our hardworking team here,”  said Michelle Zimmerman, Director of Human Resources.  “Our goal is to nurture a vibrant community of fun and professional achievement.  Employee Appreciation Week is just one way we show our respect for the people who make GCI so successful.”

GCI managers make each day of the week special.  The event kicked off with President and CEO Tom Lyons dressed as a clown, surprising arriving employees with donuts and juice as they came into work. The employees also found a ‘goodie bag’ and thank you note waiting for them at their desk.  The evening marked GCI’s annual outing at a favorite local spot where they enjoyed appetizers, dinner, drinks, games and prizes.

The fun didn’t stop on Day One of EAW.  During the week, managers served a Mexican feast to their employees; a special complimentary snack bar was set up; a deep stretch yoga class and chair massages were also on tap as the week evolved.   To conclude the week of fun, GCI held a drawing for prizes such as Amex and Amazon gift cards, movie passes, beer and wine baskets, and game tickets to one of the hottest teams in the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs.

GCI employs over 150 professionals at its corporate office in Overland Park, KS and three member fulfillment and property management offices in Clearwater, FL, Orlando, FL and Myrtle Beach, SC.  Global Connections’ travel club, Global Discovery Vacations, is marketed and sold through independent sales distributorships located in cities across the United States.
