Garden of the Gods Resort and Club, Colorado Springs’ luxury resort, club and spa,  announces the appointment of new leadership including Thomas Hartwell as Executive Chef and Chris Karpov as Director of Front Office.

Hartwell brings a distinguished career spanning the globe within the hospitality and culinary arts fields. Most recently, Hartwell served as Chef de Cuisine at Edgewood Tahoe Resort following culinary appointments at Gateway Canyons Resort and Spa, The Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder, ZuZu Napa and The Meritage Resort and Spa among others. He is also a gold-medal accoladed American Culinary Federation (ACF) competitor.

As Executive Chef, Hartwell will lead the resort and club’s culinary offerings for guests and club members, including four restaurants and lounges and in-room dining, through his culinary discipline and industry wisdom.

Karpov, newly appointed Director of Front Office, joins the resort with a distinguished career in hospitality operations. As recent Director of Front Office Operations at Rancho Bernardo Inn, Karpov was responsible for all front office operations and under his tenure, the property accomplished marked guest service score improvements in the San Diego market. Before that, Karpov was Director of Rooms at South Coast Winery, Resort & Spa and Carter Estate Winery & Resort after serving in similar roles at San Diego Marriott Del Mar, Omni San Diego and Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa.

At Garden of the Gods Resort and Club, Karpov will oversee the front desk operations, guest services, concierges and reservations team.
