Massanutten Resort
Massanutten Resort in Rockingham County, Virginia, announced an approved land donation to Rockingham County for constructing a new fire, rescue, and emergency management station. This facility will enhance emergency response for the resort and surrounding residential areas, including the Massanutten Property Owners Association and a new 55+ Active Adult Community. Located near Colo Road and Massanutten Drive, the station will ensure rapid response times and improved safety for residents and guests.
“Massanutten Resort is committed to contributing to the safety of our community,” said Steve Krohn, President and Chief Operating Officer of Great Eastern Resort Corporation. “This new station will enhance emergency response capabilities and help create a safer environment for everyone in the area. We’re thrilled to have been able to donate the land to make this project possible.”
The resort does not anticipate the station’s construction for several years, and there is no immediate obligation for the county to proceed with development. The resort and county will collaborate to minimize neighborhood disruption during construction.
“As Massanutten Resort continues to grow and attract more visitors, the new fire, rescue, and emergency management station represents a significant step in enhancing the region’s overall safety infrastructure,” added Krohn. “We’re proud to be able to support the well-being of the community through this donation.”
This strategic location near Painters Pond and the Family Adventure Park will serve both Massanutten Resort and nearby residential areas, ensuring rapid emergency response and improved safety.
