Recently named by the Summit Daily as one of the Best of Summit County’s “Best Places to Work,” Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV) held true to that designation as the company hosted the Fifth Annual BGV Wellness Fair at the Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center on Wednesday, October 26th. The BGV Owners/Developers aim to promote healthy lifestyles for employees by paying for all Wellness Fair expenses, making all services costless to workers and inviting family members of BGV personnel to take advantage at remarkably discounted rates.
All participants received access to blood screenings, flu shots, comprehensive wellness screenings, health risk assessments, wellness raffle prizes and resources from a variety of health-related vendors. The 2016 raffle prizes included: a room identifier and essential oils, a bathroom scale, Soothe and Refresh Spa certificates, a Fit Bit, $100 in Target gift cards, a yoga mat and resistance bands, $300 in Summit Endurance Academy gift certificates, and an additional
$300 in Wellness Dollars. The Grand prize was an additional $500 in Wellness Dollars, which can be used towards activities that promote wellbeing. We all know that nowadays well-being is at the forefront of people’s minds, they want to do the best they can to support themselves and be healthy. This also includes mental health which has become a more talked about subject in recent years. The use of wellness treatments and activities like meditation and CBD vape oil, to name a few, is helpful to those who need support in calming their minds and reacting with clarity.
A total of 276 employees and 19 guests took part in the fair, which was run by the BGV Wellness Committee and HR Staff. Preventive Health Now (PHN) completed 289 blood screenings and administered 165 flu shots. Any employee that had their blood screening done earned $50 of Wellness Dollars. After completing an online Health Risk Assessment with their screening results, employees will receive an additional $50 in Wellness Dollars.
The vendor booths included: BGV Sustainability, Howard Head Sports Medicine, MindSprings Health, Summit Community Care Clinic, The American Heart Association, A Balanced Crane, Preventative Health Now (PHN) Bone Density and Lung Function, Zumba, The Hartford, BGV Benefits, St. Anthony Summit Medical Center, Strategies Capital Management, and Centura Health. Vendors provided attendees with resources which promote wellness, and some offered interactive exercises and assessments. With the tools and resources provided at the BGV Wellness Fair, participants can maintain their health, increase their awareness of potential risks and can proactively advocate for treatment.
About Breckenridge Grand Vacations
Created in 1984, Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV) was built by brothers Mike and Rob Millisor and friend Mike Dudick upon the belief that the success of their company would be determined by the positive impact it had on their owners and guests, employees and the community. The developers of the company also embraced the concept that BGV would be the best in sales if they were first and foremost the best in customer service. The company has embraced the Net Promoter methodology company-wide and consistently beats industry averages with its high scores. BGV now creates Grand vacations for over 23,000 owners and employs over 500 staff members.
Sadly, Rob Millisor passed away in October, 2015 while on a humanitarian visit to Nepal. His example and service to the needs of others remains a strong focus with BGV’s leadership and staff. He is greatly missed and his legacy of success and giving continues.
