Resort Trades Learning Center to Feature Exclusive Interview with ARDA SVP of Public Relations, Marketing & Communications David Axel

Resort Trades is pleased to welcome the appointment of David J. Axel, JD, MBA, MSCIS, as the new Senior Vice President of Public Relations, Marketing & Communications for the American Resort Development Association. As part of Resort Trades Media Group’s ongoing commitment to cover industry leadership and thought trends, the Resort Trades Learning Center will host an exclusive interview with Axel in August 2025 on its channel, YouTube.com/ResortTrades. The discussion will center on Axel’s goals for the remainder of the year, including how ARDA intends to amplify the positive message of timeshare ownership in today’s media landscape.

Axel brings with him a multidisciplinary background spanning public relations, regulatory compliance, digital marketing, and legal affairs—making him a strategic addition as the organization aims to further its mission of promoting the benefits of the vacation ownership industry to the U.S. consumer.

David Axel is no stranger to high-stakes communications. His background includes negotiating complex regulatory challenges with the FCC, launching PR and marketing campaigns for global names like NASA and MTV, and developing digital engagement strategies through his own successful business growth agency. He also holds a U.S. patent related to digital signature verification.

Axel’s education is equally impressive, with a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University, dual master’s degrees (MBA and Computer Information Systems) from the University of Phoenix, and a Digital Marketing Certification from the Wharton School of Business. His approach blends legal acumen with marketing innovation—qualities that position him to navigate the complex narrative around vacation ownership.

“David Axel’s diverse skillset and fresh perspective come at a pivotal moment for our industry,” said Sharon Scott Wilson, publisher and co-owner of Resort Trades Media Group. “Travel experts agree that more people are traveling today than ever before. For more than 30 years, we’ve supported ARDA’s mission to advance the timeshare industry through education, visibility, and advocacy. I look forward to discovering new ways our media platforms can further that work under David’s leadership.”

With millions of families relying on vacation ownership as a preferred travel option, ARDA’s communications leadership is more important than ever. Axel’s arrival signals a renewed focus on consumer awareness and public trust—particularly as the industry enters its next chapter of growth and innovation.

Stay tuned for the full interview next week at YouTube.com/ResortTrades, where Axel will outline his strategies for championing timeshare ownership, improving industry transparency, and promoting the lifelong vacation value offered by resort membership models.
